The dairy has large spacious pens with concrete waterers, shades and 3840 lockups. There is a double 35 parallel milking parlor with rapid exit. The current permit is for 6700 head of which 2700 are milking. There are 3 large, stainless milk holding tanks, an 80 electronic truck scale, a backup generator, a large 6-bay commodity barn, an area for silage storage and two 50x100 hay sheds. There is also a 64x110 metal hospital building, a 70 x 110 metal equipment storage/shop building, a late model double-wide modular home and an older farm house. Two large ponds for holding run-off water are tied into the irrigation system for the dairy section.
The dairy section is split in half by a rail line that runs north and south through the section with the dairy located on the north part of the east half section. There is a -mile Valley center-pivot sprinkler irrigation system (pivot) located on the south side of this east half section and two -mile pivots (one Valley and one Zimmatic) located on the west half section. On the east half, there are two wells with 35HP submersible electric motors and pumps (subs) with one used for the dairy and the other used for irrigation and as a backup for the dairy. There are 3 irrigation wells on the west half of the section one is a 35-HP sub, one is an 8 turbine setup for a natural gas engine and one is a 4 turbine with a vertical hollow-shaft electric motor. All wells on the section are tied together with underground line and the pivots which are each nozzled for 700 GPM can be run two at a time.
The half section west of I-27 has two -mile pivots (one Zimmatic and one T-L) which are also each nozzled for 700 GPM and can be run one at a time. There are two wells with 8 turbine pumps and natural gas engines. The bowls on the east pump need to be replaced and doing so would likely increase water production. The quarter section east of the dairy has a -mile Valley pivot nozzled at 700 GPM and supplied by two wells with 40 hp subs.
