The home is furnished with breath taking restored antique furnishings which can also be purchased. The historical home is surrounded by majestic pecan trees and has the historical Red River County courthouse to the south. From the lovely wrap around front porch you enter the grand foyer with piano and antique furnishings. You see the entrance to the beautiful hardwood stairway with a stained glass window on the first landing directly ahead. Looking left you see the Shannon Parlor with a lovely bay window area, fireplace and another entrance to the front porch. Looking right you see the Carolyn Rose Parlor with a large picture window with a stained glass window at the top as well as a beautiful fireplace. After entering the Carolyn Rose Parlor you go left into a grand hallway and to the right is the Governor's bedroom with fireplace, private setting room, private bath with jetted tub and shower. Continuing from the grand hallway you go into the stately dining room large enough to sit 10 guests at a large dining table and 4 more in a private setting in the corner. Off the dining room is the kitchen with an office or pantry area with a half bath. Off the right of the dining room is the large utility room and additional pantry storage. Leaving the dining room you enter the galley or hallway that links to the Norris bath and Norris bedroom which has a deck with setting area. You also have entrance to the Shannon bedroom with fireplace, bay window, private bath with jetted tub and entrance to the wrap around front porch. The galley also has a stained glass window. From the galley hallway is also entrance back to the grand foyer. Going upstairs you have a very large second landing with access to the Nook which could be a 7th bedroom and currently used as a setting area. To the left on the landing is the Juliet bedroom with private bath with claw footed tub completely restored with a beautiful gold leaf painted design by Polly Toppings, a local artist. Juliet also has a private balcony with setting area and a swing. West side of the landing is entrance to the Tower bedroom with a hand painted magnolia flowers border on the hardwood floor and has many windows. There is a hall bath with a claw footed tub completed restored with beautiful gold leaf painted leaves by Polly Toppings. North side of the landing is also the Romeo bedroom with private bath that has a stained glass window above the jetted tub. The home has a lovely green lawn and surrounded by producing paper shell pecan trees.
